The chronicle of Qistina last 3 days leading to her discharge from KKH (
as narrated by the father).....
2nd August 2010
7pm:
- She started to vomit after having her dinner of porridge....... She would vomit out even after giving breast milk or liquid formula, including plain water.... It goes on for about 3 hours while we monitor her condition... Other that vomiting, she was still as cheerful and was walking about....
11pm:
- She had vomited around 6-7 times within the 4 hours..... We decided to have her check at KKH.....
Close to 12 midnight:
- We check into KKH A&E department. The place was packed with children with all kinds of sickness.... What a pity sight..... Qistina was her cheerful self however she was tired but refused to sleep, probably due to the crowd around her. She gets easily scared of people...
3rd August 2010
12.20am:
- Gave her breast milk (of course not me. Wife did)... 10 minutes later, she vomitted again.... We changed her clothing and pampers as well...... She was now looking frail and less active....
12.45am:
- Our queue number was called to see the doctor.. Finally! Doctor checked her but Qistina as usual was reluctant for strangers to come close to her.... She wailed! Doctor gave a glucose solution to be consumed within the next 1hr (every 15 mins starting @ 1.15am)............
1.15am:
- Tried to give her the glucose solution.... Somehow she knew it was a medicine even before she tasted it. (What a smart girl!!) She refused to drink, but was evetually "force down" into her....... She wailed so loud that almost everyone in the waiting hall was looking @ us!!! It tooks us more than 10 mintues to finish the first doze of glucose of only 15ml.....
1.25am:
- She vomitted out the glucose content......... Darn! She was becoming weaker..... Tried to coax her to sleep but she did not....
1.30am
- Tried to give her a second doze of the glucose...... She refused and wail even harder..... Decided that it was not working...... So we approached the nurse. Given another flavouring... She vomitted out the content again!
1.50am:
- Consultation with the doctor again. Doctor decided that she needs to be warded and put on drip..... Reluctantly we agreed.....
Close to 3.00am:
- Finally after registation and the hu-ha, Qistina was placed @ Ward 65 Bed 28.....
3.30am:
- Doctor came and tried to put a drip needle on her.... Both of us were told to wait outside.... Heard very loud wailing.. Wife was anxious and almost wanted to barge in....
3.40am:
- Doctor told Qistina's vain clamp up while injecting her and unable to have the needle put through enough!!!!!!!! Will try again tomorrow.
Close to 5.00am:
- Finally Qistina went to sleep after much crying and throwing all sort of trantrum......... A quick nap for both of us.....
6.15am:
- Wife stayed back while I went home to have a quick shower and take some clothings and personnal stuff...
8.30am:
- Took the car together with mum and sister. Going to KKH....
9.40am:
- Reached KKH....... Wife and Qistina were already up and awake..... Soon, the in-laws came...
11.30am:
- Had our quick breakfast and lunch @ Macdonalds before heading home for a quick shower and rest... Both grannies and grandpas taking care of Qistina while we were away...
3.30pm:
- Reached KKH. I left again to sent my parents and sister home...... Went back to take more things for wife.. Qistina was succesful put on drip although she was really pissed having her right hand bandage and put in a spleen.... Tried to give her milk and some cakes. She vomited.
8.00pm:
- Reached KKH together with my dad who was from work....
9.30pm:
- The in-laws and my dad left KKH. Stay with wife..... Qistina is grogry but refused to sleep. Probably the unfamiliar environment....Wife coax her to sleep....
1045pm:
- Finally Qistina fell asleep.. Accompany wife for a while while she sleeps....
11.15pm:
- Left KKH with Qistina and wife sound asleep... (Only 1 adult allowed to stay)
4th August 2010
0930am:
- Reached KKH. Qistina just woke up.... Informed by wife, she had tough night as Qistina kept waking up... Doctor came and told us Qistina can stop the drip.. The drip was stopped but the needle remained..
1100am:
- The in-laws came to take over duty.. We went home for a quick shower and rest... Soon after my mum and sister came...
3.30pm:
- Left for KKH. Wife overslept due to exhaustion.. Understandable. Mum and sister on the way home for KKH...
Close to 4pm:
- Reached KKH. Spotted Qistina with the in-law at the retail outlet at level 1.... Had our late lunch...
4.45pm:
- Went back to ward and was approached by the nurse... Answer a few questions... Shortly after, a doctor came. Answer more questions.... Doctor gave the green light for her to be discharge... Happy!!!
5.15pm:
- Packed up quickly. Left ward and thanks the doctor and nurses there....... What a great feeling for all of us esp wife and Qistina!
645pm:
- Home Sweet Home.......... Rest of all.... Wife is currently having flu maybe due to the exhaustion and lack of sleep... Resting early at home... Thanking God all is well and so quickly also.......

Everyone seems to be happy or at least happy with the food.
As such Qistina would like to take this opportunity to say a big
THANK YOU to all who came for the celebration especially during the heavy rain and thunderstorm....... Your attendance is greatly greatly appreciated........... Thank you as well for the many many wonderful gifts.... She loves them all.....
THANK YOU...............

Work have become much more challenging and at times energy-sapping...... But however tough the work is for the day, all my worries, anger, sadness and whats-not would immediately melts away upon looking at my dearest wife and our beloved cute daughter...........
If work is a disease, family is definitely the remedy!

yet again time has gotten away from me... it has been hrmm.... months? since i last updated. ...
May is almost over... & it's been quite a hectic month... & 1 of the most important & life changing events was our dear daughter's birthday. Yupz... she turned
1 in this month. how time flies doesn't it?
& while the little girl celebrated her first birthday (with much aplomb, i assure you...) her ibu is currently down with backaches...
must be all the heavy lifting i have been doing for the past few weeks. i am not as spry as i used to be... need to keep that in mind.... pills from the doctor isn't doing me much good so i guess i have to go for a massage. so next break... i will schedule a massage for myself. i sorely need it...

*blows dust off blog* it's been a long time since either one of us updated the blog. i've been trying to adapt to my new work place & job scope. the hubs... well.... he's just been busy....
a lot of stuff has happened since i last updated. mainly stuff @ work... but let us not discuss them. *wink*
N.I.Q. has been growing steadily too. she is now crawling faster, exploring her surroundings with ease & speed. sometimes with too much speed it seems. she leaves us in her dust as she races off to a forbidden corner, while we scramble after her...
her latest achievement is to be able to stand on her own. of course, she has yet to be able to keep standing for more than a minute. but it is still a milestone for us, especially when she can rock on the balls of her feet in an imitation of a dance. or maybe it's her attempt to walk...*shrugs*

It has been more than a week now that I have been going for my motorcycle class 2 advance course for work related purposes...... Although I had slapped on loads of sun tan lotion, I'm still suffering sun-burn and wife even noticed that I'm getting very much darker nowadays.......
Anyway, Qistina is slowly learning to sit and stand up quickly on her own however she still haven't learnt to walk unaided... Hopefully she be able to in these coming months, before her 1st year birthday. Also, Qistina is slowly throwing trantrum when things do not go her way... It's quite challenging for us; to please her and spoil her or to be firm and but teach her to be righteous........
Anyway went to some birthday parties by wife's friends and kuzzie.......... How happy they are celebrating their precious one's birthday... Qistina birthday is a few months away and we are still pondering how best we can celebrate her 1st birthday with closed and loved ones.............
Wife has started attending courses by her new employer in preparation for her new job environment. Best of luck to you, wife. Hope that this time, you finally find happiness in your work life (which I doubt but can only hope cause you are very choosy.....!!) Hoping wife got posted to somewhere near to our home so that she could catch a longer nap had cut her traveling time significantly.
This coming CNY do not know where to go or what to do........... Any ideas???

Another year had past and yet another year beckon...... Like it or not, we have to go through year 2010 together.. Like every start of the year, we all have our goals, aspirations etc etc for us to achieve or at least try to for the whole year (to prevent people from saying that we have no goals in life)...... So these are my goals and what I hope can be achieved in my/our (family) lives (Not rank by priority)...
1. See Qistina finally walking on her own.....
2. Celebrating her 1st birthday (Hopefully slightly grander)
3. Getting my class 2 and WRX conversion @ work so that I can finally wear white uniform...hahaha
4. Wife getting her driving license sooner rather than later.......... (It's all got to do with $$$..hahaha Lessons used to be cheaper... Much much cheaper..)
5. Wife settling into her job and she actually likes the job....... (At least stay for 1 year lah)
6.Wife taking cooking course (For goodness sake, start dishing out 5-star dishes already.... :p)
7. Getting back our home and starting renovation work
8. Moving into our new home (Finally)
9. Start education for Qistina.............
10. Buying new bike?????? hehehehe
Let's see what's wife goals are for year 2010... I'm sure as the perfect husband, there is nothing much for me to improve........ I have exceed her expectations in all areas.............. Almost Perfect. Almost Angelic like.......! There's no comparison to anyone what-so-ever.... (Because there is no one to compare to in the 1st place.. I'm her first husband..hahaha)
